Proof of young earth creation? Christian foundations will you fund my expedition to Pakistan?
The Neolithic community at Mehrgarh dates back to 7000 BCE If we are right and the calculations made by Creation theorists from the Bible are true then the people here must have lived with dinosaurs and woolly mammoths. Since they were an agricultural people they would have used domesticated animals. All I have to do is excavate the evidence that they rode dinosaurs or mammoths and used them a...

Why cant you have fun as a Christian?
Christianity is strict on young people and adults. Like I know a certain friend that I have that can't do anything really ill call them Sean. They go to Christian school, go to church choir rehearsal, and go to church. And that's all no parties, going on dates, going to movies or malls with friends. If they want to go somewhere with a friend they have to bring them to church. Why must Christian...

I am a young Christian male and I want to live my life totally for the Lord. I desire to have kindness and compassion for others. However, I have had problems with dating. Ever since then, I have found myself very attracted to Latin, Indian, Polynesian, and Filipino women--all dark complected girls! I have prayed to ...
Young, white Christian women: Would you be willing to date/marry a male…?

Please read details, Is it a sin for a Christian to marry a Non-Christian?
I'm a Christian, dating an Agnostic. We've both thought about marriage before but we're both young so it's not a serious matter yet. From what I've read, no one will actually answer the question flat out. They answer a question with a question and ask "Why would you want to?" Well, because I love him. I can't help who I love. While I know it says there are likely to be problems in an unequal m...

Anyone want a Christian’s perspective on 2012 and the ‘end of the world’?

Posted By: Adam on December 20, 2011 in Uncategorized - Comments: 20 Comments »

I hear a lot about it, and there are plenty of attention-mongers on the airwaves using the “subject” to get some publicity for themselves. And a lot of people ask about it here in Yahoo Answers R&S. But there is very little to it. I may be off a little on this, but my understanding from all I’ve heard is that the ancient Mayan’s, who had incredible knowledge about star-gazing and time-keeping, made a prolific calendar that stopped at the winter solstice of 2012 (December 21, I think). But they did not mention anything about that time or why their calendar ended on that time. Maybe they ran out of stone tablets, or the wife of the calendar-maker said ‘Enough already! Come to bed!’. But many attention-mongers are speculating all kinds of things. People are saying the world will end then, or humanity will be destroyed then. Others that the earth will experience a major disruption due to our constant re-positioning in the galaxy (which sounds very plausible to me). Others are playing it safer and saying it’ll be a time of new attitude, some supernatural, spiritual epiphany of humanity. Personally, I don’t think the date means anything at all. However, as a Christian, I am saddened to think of how people try and will try to make something out of it because of their motivation. Aside from wanting to foreknow an event before your neighbors, I think there is a strong motivation in every non-Christian to experience something supernatural and/or positive on a global scale. I suppose it’s natural, but could it be dangerous? We all have a need for what Christians have received – the New Life obtainable for the asking through the Lord Jesus Christ. But denying this life-fulfilling personal event, people are eager to witness any other type of supernatural event, and this sets them up for possible great deception. Some, like me, believe there is coming in the relatively near future a great deception of Satan preceding the short global rule of Antichrist (spoken mostly of in The Revelation in the Bible). Since the Rapture (vanishing) of the Saved is believed to be an event prior to that 7-year Great Tribulation period, non-Christians will be left behind and will have all sorts of explanations for what happened. I believe what MIGHT happen is that Satan is taking and will take advantage of the shocking situation. I believe he will pervert the facts. Possibly using a religious leader to promote the idea that God did take people off the planet, but that he took the “less-enlightened backward Christian-types”, and that they who were left are the more advanced ones. This would keep people from repenting in Jesus’ name, which is the whole reason for the Great Tribulation period to follow. Also, according to the Bible, the world does physically end 1,000 years following the end of that 7-year Tribulation, when God will remake the earth entirely. But the coming Tribulation (described in detail in the Bible’s The Revelation) is not and should not be referred to as ‘the end of the world’, although about 2/3 of humanity will die then. As always though, there is hope, fulfillment, joy, life, and love in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Does anyone have a brief belief related to this? (jokes are welcome too)
I guess most people don’t read question text well on here, because so many have tied my writing about 2012 with the Christian Rapture event as if I think the Rapture might occur then. But I am well aware that no one is to know that date. That was not something I was implying at all. Just that I believe non-Christians are hungry for any impressive event and so are latching onto this 2012 thing as something major, when there is NO reason to expect anything. That this 2012 hype going around supports my belief that non-Christians will also bite at any lie that sparkles when the Rapture doe occur (whenever it does occur). I also wanted to know if anyone had additional thoughts anout any of these things.

Can anyone help me with the plot of, “A walk to Remember”?

Posted By: Adam on November 26, 2011 in Uncategorized - Comments: 1 Comment »

I read the book a few months ago, andonly remember the basic plot. I am alittle mized up with the order in which things happened, such as whether or not the Christmas play or Landon telling Jamie he loves her happened first. I can’t find any summaries online, only for the movie, which is quite differne.t I need a really good summary. If you cannot help with hthat, could you at least help me to decide where to go from here(this is all I remember):

“A Walk to Remember” follows the lives of two completely different people, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. The story takes place in Beaufort, North Carolina, in the year of 1953. Beaufort is a small town, where everyone knows everyone and life was simpler. Landon Carter grew up here with his mother. His father is a congressman, and rarely sees his son. Landon is missing a father figure in his life, and this affects him greatly. Landon becomes the popular rebel in school, and is getting into trouble constantly. It’s his senior year, and he decides to take on drama as a “joke” class. The only actually part of the class that involves some work is putting on a famous Christmas play, written by their Reverend. He figures it will be an easy A, since he’s just counting down the days until schools over. He wants to attend North Carolina University after graduation, and is doing everything possible do to so. In drama, he meets Jamie Sullivan, an unpopular, shy girl, who wears old brown sweaters and plaid skirts everyday, and carries her Bible with her everywhere. Jamie is the reverend’s daughter, and believes everything that happens to her is “a part of the Lord’s plan”. She gets good grades, volunteers, helps out at the orphanage, and does everything possible to help everyone. She is the sure candidate for the lead role in the Christmas play, as the Christmas angel.

Landon is working hard to try and get into college. His father decides he needs more extra-curricular activities, so he urges him to run for class president. Landon does, and with the help of some friends, he wins. One of his duties as president is to attend the homecoming dance. He needs to find a date, but has just recently broken up with his girlfriend. He flips through his yearbook, and realizes that the only girl left without a date is Jamie Sullivan. Landon is hesitant, yet decides to ask her. Jamie says yes, as long as Landon “does not fall in love with her”. Landon says that won’t be a problem. At the dance, Jamie helps Landon’s friends out of a lot of trouble, and Landon sees her in a new way. As Landon walks her home, she asks him to be the leading male role in the Christmas play, for nobody else really fit the part. Landon does not want to, yet he is thankful for her help with his friends, so he reluctantly agrees.

The two practice their lines all the time, and Landon begins to like Jamie more and more. He even starts walking her home every night, even though Jamie’s father disapproves. Jamie invites Landon to visit the orphanage with her, and he agrees, even though he isn’t very fond of the idea. There, Landon realizes how happy she can make the children, even though she has nothing to give to them. Landon starts to fall in love with Jamie, and begins hanging out with her at school, despite what everyone thinks.

Has anyone had a good experience with dating sites like eHarmony or Match.com?

Posted By: Adam on October 13, 2011 in Uncategorized - Comments: 7 Comments »

I’m still a little leery, even though I have already “signed up”. I have been divorced for almost a year and find it difficult to find quality Christian men. There don’t seem to be any in my age range in my church.

Anyone have advice for online dating?

Posted By: Adam on October 11, 2011 in Uncategorized - Comments: 12 Comments »

Currently I’m on eHarmony, and have been talking to a girl on there for about a week and a half. We have exchanged four emails so far. She seems interested in me, and is asking many questions about myself. Should I ask for her phone number, or just ask her out on a date instead and skip getting the phone number? If I do ask for her phone number, via email, how should I ask for it?

Does anyone have any Advices?

Posted By: Adam on September 11, 2011 in Uncategorized - Comments: 1 Comment »

I’ve been knowing this one kid since my sophomore year of high school, and I dated him for a week and I thought that his parents are Christian Lutherans, I thought he was one as well, and perhaps, he acted like one, but I broke up with him because me and him were very different and so I didn’t want that.
But my senior year of high school, the more I saw him, the more I fell in love with him, and so now we are dating, but the issue is that is been a year now and he knows that there is a power from above but he is not sure whether is God or not, and I know of course that God is the only truth, and so he claims himself as an agnostic kind of guy, and every time I remember this, it just breaks my heart that he can’t see what I can see, and I know that I can’t change him who he is because I would hate that, but I do wish he could be a Christian, but he just so insecure that the bible says the truth, because he doesn’t have the spiritual eyes to see what God means by all of these things, and what makes it worst is that he is pretty much almost the perfect guy you could ever meet, he meets all of the requirements I expect from him and took care of me a whole time when I got very sick. And I don’t know whether God put me in his way to bring him to the Lord, or what…but I get so sad when I see that in the bible says that we can be mixing to unequal yolks and I’m so confused…I wish I could fix this somehow, because it depresses me when I think about it.

Why does porn bore me? Does it do this to anyone else?

Posted By: Adam on September 4, 2011 in Uncategorized - Comments: 5 Comments »

I’m a guy and like most guys I like porn. In the past when I’ve watched porn alone I’ll get aroused to the men and/or women in it since I’m bisexual and enjoy it.

Lately I find myself getting very bored of porn and I’m not sure why? Has this ever happened to you?

I’m single but if I wanted to start dating, starting a relationship with a man or woman and sleeping with them I could but I’m OK with being single.

I’m in my 20s and I don’t want a husband and/or wife just yet and I’ve had relationships with men and dated men and women in the past. While I’m not into one night stands or hook ups I’ve had a few of those in the past but they were safe and not really my thing but enjoyable in some ways but nowhere near as satisfying as being in a relationship with a man or woman.

When I’m in a relationship with someone and we’re having sex or going to have sex I’ve had people want to look at porn and I don’t like to watch it then during sex since I’m actually going to have sex with a person/people and I don’t want to start to have sex and then get distracted watching other people have sex on a TV screen or computer monitor.

I do work multiple part time jobs and those take up a lot of my time. I’m looking for fulltime work but in this economy everyone seems to be. I’m not stressed out or depressed since when I’m not working I go to a gym to exercise a few times a week or I’ll just exercise at home if the gym is closed.

I’ve looked at porn that’s new and I find it boring and the stuff I’ve seen before that I used to enjoy watching bores me as well. It’s not just the pro-studio stuff that bores me either I will look at amateur stuff on xtube and that’s boring as well.

I sometimes will read erotica or smutty stories and I can like those better than watching porn but lately I find them boring too.

It doesn’t matter if the porn is vanilla or if it has kink or BDSM in it as I like both types and practice BDSM but I still find it boring lately.

I don’t feel bad for the adults I see on screen in porn and even the porn I watch that has BDSM or consensual power exchange in it doesn’t offend me and I’m not easily offended anyway even by porn.

Why is porn boring to me now? Has this ever happened to you?

No trolling. If you’re born again Christian, Muslim, or Orthodox Jewish and are just going to tell me to stop looking at porn or having sex with men and women don’t bother replying.

Anyone know of any troll-free Christian chat rooms or forums?

Pls, everywhere I go online is full of ppl hating God. You don’t have to post here, msg me so the trolls here won’t see it.
